On developing bad habits

I've finally tried using the rougher and pasted backside of my RupRazor beginner strop to sharpen my blade. I finally started to notice that regular stropping wasn't getting the job done on my 5/8 Wade & Butcher. Only used it once, seems to be a monthly thing.

Worked great and I found that I may have slowly, over weeks, been adding more and more pressure on the final stropping, I might have been bending the strop too much. There is a sweet spot with the pressure, and it's a good idea for beginners to do a check every week to make sure you aren't developing bad habits.

I can also say that now that I have some experience with Tabac, I don't have the skin issues some have had with this tallow based soap. Then again, I don't use it everyday.
